Turning Tables

A predator dodges the defensive onslaught of its prey, as a Tibetan sand fox Vulpes ferrilata nimbly ‘outfoxes’ a ‘well-armed’ Tibetan gazelle Procapra picticaudata. This high-octane drama was captured at 5,400 m. above sea level at Gurudongmar, North Sikkim. Both animals have evolved to survive and thrive in the thin oxygen levels that prevail at high altitudes.
