Gashi Aangan

This little known vantage point affords a bird’s eye view of pine and maple forests, and verdant meadows of the Dachnipora mountains that bound Liddar valley in the west. Gashi Aangan lies on the trekking trail towards Katri Nag, a cluster of lakelets located near the south base of Kolahoi (5,450 m). The densely wooded slopes of Liddar valley are home to a rich diversity of flora and fauna. On the higher reaches, rare herbs like jogi phool (Sassurea species) can be found, whereas on the lower wooded slopes, rare birds are seen.
