Worth Travelling For This large blood-red snail, Indrella ampulla, called the red giant, is endemic to the Western Ghats. The genus Indrella is monotypic, used to classify a special case where a genus and a single species are simultaneously described. The Western Ghats is a global biodiversity hotspot.
