Sheshnag

Sheshnag is the sacred source of the East Liddar river and is also an overnight camping station on the Amarnath pilgrimage. Legend has it that when the waters of the Kashmir valley were drained, the benevolent Nagas retreated to high altitude lakes, including the deep green waters of Sheshnag. The lake is home to the famous snow, rainbow and brown trout.

Sheshnag is about 11 km. from the Chandanwari road head. On its western end is a pass called Gulole Gali, connecting Sheshnag valley with Warwan valley.
