INDIAN MOUSE DEER

Moschiola indica

One of world’s smallest ungulates, so difficult to spot, lives a shy, solitary life in the dense undergrowth of forests. In semi evergreen Maredumilli in Andhra Pradesh, this pregnant female fell victim to a speeding vehicle. Roadless wildernesses are vital to the survival of our biodiversity.
