Jayanth Sharma, April 2007, Mysore – 350.org… or bust: In 2007, heavy rainfall in Karnataka resulted in the release of excess water from the KRS dam over the Cauvery river. If this child manoeuvring his bicycle through inundated fields is not promised a planet whose carbon concentrations (now at 387 parts per million) are brought down to 350 at the very minimum, he will curse our generation long after the last decision maker who devastated his world has passed away. One could hardly ask for a fate worse than that of being remembered poorly by our children. But that is what we risk by ignoring the climate change imperatives staring us in the face.
