Little Bittern
An iconic tourist destination, not many people know about one of Dal Lake’s biggest attractions – the thousands of migratory birds that flock to its freezing waters in the winter. The most well known of these is the Little Bittern Ixobrychus minutus, a small wader from the heron family, which can be easily missed on account of its small size and shy nature.
